SAN DIEGO – Waters Kraus Paul & Siegel was recently recognized in a special edition of The Recorder, California’s Million Dollar Verdicts of 2011. The firm’s achievement in the asbestos trial of Mansir v. Air & Liquid Systems Corp. is the firm’s fourth case to be featured on a California’s Million Dollar Verdicts list. Trial attorneys Jonathan George, David Bricker, and Peter Klausner represented William W. Mansir, a 70-year-old former Navy boiler technician suffering from mesothelioma. During his 10 years of military service, Mr. Mansir was exposed to various asbestos-containing products, including gasket and packing material. On July 20, 2011, a San Diego jury returned a verdict in favor of Mr. Mansir for $2,350,961. The jury found Defendant John Crane Inc. responsible for Mr. Mansir’s illness and apportioned a prorated 5% liability. John Crane Inc. was the only remaining defendant at the time of verdict.
