March 24, 2022 Waters Kraus & Paul, a national law firm devoted to helping families in personal injury and wrongful death cases, has been named a 2022 U.S. News-Best Lawyers “Best Law Firm.”
The 2022 rankings by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers are based on an annual rigorous review process that includes lawyer and client evaluations and peer reviews from leading attorneys in their field. More than 8.2 million evaluations of more than 115,000 leading lawyers from more than 22,000 firms were considered.
Waters Kraus & Paul is regionally ranked in three practice areas on the list. In Dallas-Fort Worth, the firm ranked Tier 1 in plaintiff personal injury litigation and plaintiff product liability litigation. In Los Angeles, the firm ranked Tier 1 in plaintiff personal injury litigation.
Waters Kraus & Paul is based in Dallas, Texas, with offices in Los Angeles, California; New Orleans, Louisiana; and by appointment in Moline, Illinois. The law firm has represented families from all 50 states and many foreign countries, as well as foreign governments.
More than 2,000 firms received a national ranking this year. Of those firms, more than 500 received at least one Tier 1 national ranking. Firms that received a tier designation reflect the highest level of respect a firm can earn among other leading lawyers and clients from the same communities and practice areas, according to U.S. News.
As part of the ranking process, clients were asked to provide feedback on expertise, responsiveness, understanding of a business its needs, cost-effectiveness, civility, and whether they would refer another client to the firm.
Lawyers voted on expertise, responsiveness, integrity, cost-effectiveness, whether they would refer a matter to the firm, and whether the firm was considered a worthy competitor. For the
eighth year, a Law Firm Leaders Survey was implemented to provide personal insight on the legal landscape surrounding the nationally ranked practice areas. The group was asked to vote on law firms that have a preeminent national presence within specified legal practice areas they know well.
In addition to these surveys, the rankings incorporate the 8.2 million evaluations of more than 115,000 leading lawyers collected by Best Lawyers in its most recent annual survey. Law firms also are asked to provide general demographic and background information on the firm, the attorneys and other data that speaks to the strengths of a law firm’s practice areas.
